My Path to Peace

I outlined my healing journey in my book, Invisible. Below are links to books and services that helped me along the way or services I would have used if they were available at the time.

My Grandmother’s Hands – This book was life changing for me and began my path to healing. In it, therapist Resmaa Menakem examines the damage caused by racism in America from the perspective of trauma and body-centered psychology. Menakem details a step-by-step process for healing that is based on the latest neuroscience and somatic healing methods. I can not recommend this book enough.

Domestic Violence Programs – A good resource for this is Domesticshelters.org. Domesticshelters.org strives to be the catalyst that those experiencing abuse to seek positive change. There are informative articles on many common forms of abuse and a shelter finding tool to find the domestic violence services near you.
